A Fort Myers Miracle Press Release FORT MYERS, FL – Two more deserving players from the Fort Myers Miracle have been added to the All-Star team, the Florida State League announced. Pitcher Travis Bowyer and infielder Kaulana Kuhaulua were added to the Western Division team, although Bowyer will not play because he was called up to Double-A New Britain. The 22-year-old Bowyer had one of the best two months of the season among all pitchers in the FSL. Before being called up he was 3-0 with a 0.30 ERA and two saves in 17 games. In 29.2 innings pitched he allowed six runs (one earned) on 18 hits, while walking 18 and striking out 32 while the opposition hit .182 against him. This was Bowyer’s second season with the Miracle. Last year he was 5-2 with a 3.83 ERA and one save in 45 games. The 24-year-old Kuhaulua is in his second season with the Miracle. He is hitting .253 with a team leading five homers and 20 RBI in 40 games. In 150 at bats he has 11 extra base hits, five doubles and a triple to go along with the five homers and his .400 slugging percentage is second highest on the team. The versatile infielder, he has played second and short this season, spent 33 games with the Miracle in 2003 and hit .250 with seven doubles and eight RBI in 108 at bats. This is the first all-star selection for either player. The Miracle are represented by five players in the All-Star Game at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie. Along with Bowyer and Kuhaulua, pitchers Scott Baker and Justin Olson and catcher Jose Morales were also selected. Baker is also at Double-A New Britain and will not participate in the game.
