Fort Myers Miracle first baseman Garrett Jones was named the Florida State League Player of the Week, for the week of April 21-27, the Florida State League announced today. In six games and 21 plate appearances he compiled a .429 average. He collected nine hits to include two home-runs, one triple and one double. He drove in six runs and scored eight times. Jones slugging average was .857 and his OBP was .478. "I’ve been getting good pitches to hit,” Jones said. “Early in the season I wasn’t taking advantage of them, but now I am starting to find my groove and driving balls all over the park. Jones is currently hitting .254 with three home runs and 11 RBI. The three dingers leads the team. He has played in 17 games and has a slugging percentage of .525. Jones resides in Tinley Park, IL and is in his fifth year of professional baseball. This is the first award for a Miracle player this season.
